ELI Reaches New Heights 2019

Our Year in Review

Hi there,

As 2019 comes to a close, the ELI team has been reflecting on a great year and how far the entrepreneurial mindset has come to empower ordinary people to succeed.

Throughout 2019, our team, led by founder Gary Schoeniger, has delivered keynotes, workshops, trainings, and other speaking engagements in a variety of states and countries around the world. From West Virginia to South Africa, we have worked to develop entrepreneurial attitudes, behaviors, and skills that transform communities, classrooms, and organizations.

Also to be celebrated, we trained nearly 400 new individuals as Ice House Entrepreneurship Program facilitators this year. We can’t thank our community partners and training hosts enough for their work to engage their regional ecosystems with the entrepreneurial mindset. These events, whether open to the public or for private organizations, show us that everyone can benefit from entrepreneurial mindset education.

Finally, we developed new products such as the audiobook version of Who Owns the Ice House?, a self-paced version of the course, and online facilitator training. You can learn a bit more about those below.

In the spirit of the season, the entire ELI team wishes you a very happy year end! We cannot wait to see what 2020 has in store!

What Can I Do To Better My Community?

Last month, ELI was honored to be included in the programming of NC IDEA's inaugural Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Summit. The event was a joining of hundreds to exchange and collaborate on ideas to catalyze entrepreneurship as an economic development strategy across the state.

Also in attendance was soon-to-be Ice House Facilitator, Lindsay Keisler, President and CEO of the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce. After leaving inspired, Lindsay shared her thoughts in a column about what action she can take to better her community now as well as a story of unlikely entrepreneurs that started a brewery and represent many of the lessons within Ice House.
