For our final issue of our 2024 Top of Mind newsletter, I wanted to leave you with these uplifting and thought provoking pieces to inspire and motivate as we move into the new year.

TEDx Talk

TEDx Talk

"What if we had conversations through visual art ...?"

ELI certified facilitator Ginger Huebner spoke at the 2022 TEDxAsheville on her entrepreneurial idea of fostering connection and empathy through a novel concept: visual art.

In this thought-provoking talk, Huebner explores the idea of using visual art as a medium for meaningful expression, helping those who participate unpack emotions that they may have trouble articulating verbally.

Ginger now uses this technique in her own work, serving classrooms, organizations, and even families. Entrepreneurship is rooted in understanding the social and emotional needs of those we serve, and this approach provides a unique means of meeting those needs.

Creativity is a language that moves us beyond words.

To wrap up the year, I want to point you to Scott Barry Kaufman's recent Beautiful Minds Newsletter post, "From Trauma-Informed to Adversity Informed."

This piece delves into the concept of shifting our perspective from merely being aware of trauma to actively understanding and leveraging adversity as a powerful catalyst for growth and resilience. By adopting an "adversity-informed" approach, individuals and communities can transform challenges into opportunities for development and positive change. This mindset is essential for entrepreneurs who often face numerous obstacles on their journeys.

By fostering an adversity-informed outlook and focusing on benevolent childhood experiences, we can cultivate environments that support innovation, adaptability, and long-term success.
