ANNOUNCING
ELI has been selected as AFIT's 2023 Lead Learning Partner

Hi there,

The Alliance for Innovation & Transformation (AFIT) is an alliance of pacesetters—forward-thinking higher education CEOs committed to leading by example to show other higher education institutions how to innovate and transform their organizations in the face of unprecedented challenges and change.

AFIT offers learning, development, and networking opportunities focused on customer-driven value, innovation, transformation skills and techniques, and approaches to help colleges and other organizations achieve the long-term sustainability necessary for their survival.

Each year they gather AFIT member CEOs, AFIT Reps, and their teams to learn about a certain theme from world-class learning partners that have been strategically chosen based on members’ needs. What is the theme for 2023? You guessed it, Entrepreneurial Mindset!

ELI is honored to have been selected as the Lead Learning Partner, and we look forward to delivering a valuable program for the attendees.

A Husband-and-Wife Facilitation Team Strengthens the Entrepreneurial Community in Central Illinois

To get a feel for the Ice House courses facilitated by husband-and-wife team Dr. Jeremy “JK” Morris and Dr. Juanita Morris, just listen to their weekly podcast, Thee Morris Code. The guests laugh and banter, but they’re also willing to display a remarkable degree of vulnerability.

This candid nature was especially evident in July when the Morrises spent the month highlighting past Ice House participants at Richland Community College’s EnRich program in Decatur, Illinois.

Podcast guests included Keenan Washington, who owns Good-to-Go Lawn Service, and Jason Peeler, who owns Inherited Lawn Services. Washington described how he started his company to create generational wealth for his family. He also explained how nervous he was about being on the radio. Peeler talked about how intimidated he felt attending a class—any class—as an adult Black man and business owner.

The Morrises started facilitating Ice House courses in the fall of 2021 as part of EnRich’s Minority Mentor Protégé Program, which supports people who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs in overcoming challenges and moving forward with their careers.

"Who Owns the Ice House?" Is Available in Multiple Formats!

Learn the eight life lessons of Uncle Cleve, Clifton Taulbert, and Gary Schoeniger in the format that is best for you! "Much more than a book on entrepreneurship. It is a book about how the mindset and actions of the good & reliable stands out from the average. It is a series of stories that reflect the good old values of how one carries oneself in life...This one's a classic."
